Central America and the Caribbean

Central America is a region located in the southern part of North America, between Mexico and South America. It is bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Central America is made up of seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.

The Caribbean is a region located in the Caribbean Sea, to the southeast of Central America and to the north of South America. It is made up of more than 7,000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays, many of which are small and uninhabited. The Caribbean is home to more than 40 independent countries and territories, including the Bahamas, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad & Tobago.

Central America and the Caribbean are diverse regions with a mix of indigenous, African, and European cultural influences. Spanish is the dominant language in most of Central America and the Caribbean, but there are also many other languages spoken in the region, including English, French, and Dutch. The Caribbean is known for its vibrant music and dance styles, including reggae, salsa, and calypso.

Geographically, Central America and the Caribbean are diverse, with a range of landscapes including mountains, forests, deserts, and grasslands. Central America is home to the Central American Volcanic Arc, a chain of volcanoes that runs through the region. The Caribbean is home to many small islands and coral reefs, as well as larger islands with mountainous terrain.
